Sight is an integral part of life for most animals, but certain individuals are not fortunate enough to see the world in 20/20 vision. Scientists have long tried to develop techniques and technology to improve or completely restore impaired vision. Thanks to the work of Czech scientists there is now a ray of hope for the majority of those with vision-impairments. By using nanotechnology, scientists and physicians are now a step closer to restoring sight, largely thanks to the work completed by the Technical University in Liberec, in the Czech Republic.

A scientific team headed by Professor David Lukáš has been working to develop the material for the past five years in cooperation with the scientific team of Associate Professor Lukáš Čapek. The scientists developed the new material as part of a project of the Czech Ministry of Health in cooperation with scientists of the Faculty of Military Health Science of the University of Defence in Hradec Králové and with physicians of the Cardiac Surgery Clinic.

Scientists have long tried to develop techniques and technology to improve or completely restore impaired vision. Thanks to the work of Czech scientists there is now a ray of hope for the majority of those with vision-impairments. By using nanotechnology, scientists and physicians are now a step closer to restoring sight, largely thanks to the work completed by the Technical University in Liberec, in the Czech Republic.

Founded in 2000, Adaptive Materials has raised over $9 million the past four years through the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and various other defense agencies to develop the next generation of power sources for the United States Military. The results of these efforts have exceeded the military's expectations, resulting in addtional opportunities. AMI intends to continue to refine its technology into marketable products that solve the military's most pressing power problems.
