KEY AREAS FOR PRACTICAL COMMERCIAL USE

Main areas for practical commercial use are following three areas:
  • Nanoelectronics and computing

Molecular electronics, semiconductor components, components and nanotechnology for computing architectures.

  • Structural materials for large use

    Composites and multifunctional materials.

  • Sensors for electronics, NDT, bioengineering

Lots of sensors are used in NDT, biological and chemical industry or medicine.

Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology

Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology

Nanoscience and nanotechnology is a very promising field. It is the study of extremely small things in different domains of science. Glass staining with gold or silver particles are kind of ancient nanotechnology. Richard Feynman has been credited with coming up with the concept of nanotechnology. In 1959 he gave a talk called "There´s Plenty of Room at the Bottom" where he described a process in which scientists would be able to manipulate and control individual atoms.
Nano is basically a unit of measurement like kilo, mili or micro we use regularly. So, how small nano is? Its really hard to imagine one billionth of a meter that is 10^-9 of a metes is a nanometer. For the amusement you can say there are 25,400,000 nanometers in an inch, or a newspaper is 100,000 nanometers thick.

New developments in the field of nanotechnology – a method that restores vision

New developments in the field of nanotechnology – a method that restores vision

Sight is an integral part of life for most animals, but certain individuals are not fortunate enough to see the world in 20/20 vision. Scientists have long tried to develop techniques and technology to improve or completely restore impaired vision. Thanks to the work of Czech scientists there is now a ray of hope for the majority of those with vision-impairments. By using nanotechnology, scientists and physicians are now a step closer to restoring sight, largely thanks to the work completed by the Technical University in Liberec, in the Czech Republic.

Nanobiotechnology - nano biotechnology

Global warming continues to be a growing concern for scientists worldwide. If action is not taken now, global warming could change the world as we know it, making it an uninhabitable place. Not only will animals that rely on the environment die out and become extinct, but it would develop conditions that humans cannot withstand either. As a result, governments around the world are now making global warming one of their primary concerns, for the sake of continuing life on this planet.
